Honoring a Father’s Legacy Through Clean Water Rugga Piyakasa, Central Nigeria – 2026

In 2026, Mrs. Souieb chose to honor the memory of her father, Gill, whose life was marked by a
deep commitment to supporting African communities who had settled in France. Determined to
continue his legacy of generosity, she financed the drilling and installation of a borehole in the
village of Rugga Piyakasa, in central Nigeria.
More than a financial contribution, Mrs. Souieb personally traveled to Nigeria and took part in the
construction of the water distribution center, ensuring both the quality and long-term sustainability of
the project.
The initiative included the drilling of the borehole, the construction of a central water distribution
structure designed to serve several surrounding villages, and an inauguration ceremony
accompanied by a food distribution event for the local population.
Today, nearly 2,340 people from the Fulani community benefit from free and sustainable access to
clean drinking water. Beyond improving daily living conditions, the project strengthens public health,
dignity, and long-term community resilience.
