A Major Humanitarian Commitment: Seven Wells for 15,000 Lives
Greater Abuja Area, Nigeria – 2025
In 2025, Mr. and Mrs. Bensoussan, President of the Jewish Israelite Community of
Hauts-de-France, led an exceptional humanitarian campaign on behalf of their community and in
their personal capacity.
Driven by a deep commitment to humanitarian impact, they invested more than €350,000 in 2025
alone, supporting numerous initiatives aimed at improving living conditions for vulnerable
populations in Nigeria.
As part of this campaign, they financed the drilling and installation of seven boreholes across
different communities in the greater Abuja area. These water projects now provide sustainable
access to clean drinking water for approximately 15,000 people.
Despite challenging weather conditions, Mr. and Mrs. Bensoussan personally traveled to Nigeria to
witness the implementation of the projects and to share these powerful and emotional moments
with local communities.
During their visit, they also toured and supported several educational institutions, as well as
programs dedicated to assisting people with disabilities and children with Down
syndrome—initiatives highlighted in separate articles.
Their commitment represents not only financial generosity but also leadership, presence, and
long-term vision for sustainable humanitarian development.
