Bex Emergency Food Relief After the Maiduguri Floods

Bex Emergency Food Relief After the Maiduguri Floods Maiduguri, Northern Nigeria – 2024
In 2024, following the devastating floods that struck the region of Maiduguri in northern Nigeria, many families suddenly found themselves displaced, homeless, and without access to basic means of survival. In response to this emergency, the company BEX immediately released funds and mandated African Aid to organize a rapid humanitarian response for the affected population.
ChabadAid, together with its local partners, helped mobilize a field team to coordinate food distributions for flood victims who had lost their homes, belongings, and daily sources of income. The operation focused on providing urgent food assistance to vulnerable families left without shelter or resources in the aftermath of the disaster.
This emergency campaign received strong support and recognition during the operation, including from Kashim Shettima, Vice President of Nigeria, who was publicly thanked for his support throughout the relief effort. The total cost of the operation amounted to €40,000.
Beyond immediate food distribution, this project demonstrated the importance of fast coordination, trusted partnerships, and rapid humanitarian action in times of crisis. It stands as a powerful example of how private companies, humanitarian organizations, and public institutions can come together to respond quickly when communities are struck by disaster.
