Hygiene, Education, and Protection During COVID-19

Nigeria – COVID-19 Period
During the COVID-19 pandemic, ChabadAid carried out a large-scale hygiene and
prevention campaign to support vulnerable communities across Nigeria.
Rather than focusing only on the dramatic impact of the pandemic, the program also
emphasized education, prevention, and the importance of developing healthy hygiene
habits.
Thanks to the support of Les Rois du Monde, thousands of hygiene kits were distributed
throughout Nigeria. Each kit included essential items such as toothbrushes, towels,
protective masks, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, and a short explanatory guide
designed to help families understand and adopt basic health and hygiene practices.
The distribution took place throughout the epidemic period, including during a visit by
volunteers from Les Rois du Monde in France. In parallel, hundreds of additional hygiene
packages were also distributed directly in Europe to communities in need.
This operation was made possible through the direct intervention of Rabbi Israel Uzan,
Director of ChabadAid International, with the relevant authorities, allowing the campaign
to be organized and deployed effectively during a period of significant restrictions and
urgency.
With a total budget of nearly EUR 70,000, this initiative helped tens of thousands of
people access essential hygiene materials while also promoting prevention, dignity, and
public health awareness.
Beyond emergency assistance, the project created a lasting educational impact by
encouraging healthier habits and empowering families to better protect themselves and
their communities.
