Northern Nigeria Humanitarian Support Program – Since 2019

At the initiative of the FFEU Foundation, based in New York, ChabadAid took part in a major humanitarian coexistence program dedicated to supporting victims and displaced families affected by the conflict with Boko Haram in northern Nigeria. Launched in 2019, this program has been renewed every year since then and continues to take place annually, providing ongoing support to displaced families living in extremely difficult conditions.

The operation is carried out in IDP camps, where tens of thousands of refugees from the northern regions of the country have found shelter after fleeing violence, insecurity, and displacement. Through this initiative, the Jewish community helps provide large-scale food assistance to vulnerable families. The distributions are organized in the presence of Muslim authorities and in close collaboration with Imam Shadow, reinforcing a powerful message of interfaith cooperation and shared responsibility.

The project demonstrates how communities of different faiths can work together to respond to human suffering, especially in times of crisis. Beyond the food support itself, the operation carries a message of dignity, compassion, and solidarity toward families who have lost their homes and stability. The total cost of the operation amounted to €61,600, fully funded by the FFEU Foundation of Chief Rabbi Marc Schneier in New York.

This ongoing initiative stands as a meaningful example of humanitarian partnership across continents and faiths, bringing practical relief and moral support to displaced families in one of Nigeria’s most sensitive humanitarian contexts.
